The Magic Behind “Voila”

I learned today that the word “voila” is associated with magic by the Americans!

Simply like “ta da!” for them! So when I said “voila!” after eating my turkey omelette at The Brown Bag Cafe, I was corrected that I could not use that word ’cause nothing is coming out like a magic out of the food I was eating. I explained back that the word is actually rooted from the French word that means “there it is!”, something like an expression “done!” or just expressing satisfaction.

Then it dawned at me that maybe the magic there was the “breakfast time” and not the word itself?h
